International Business Internship in NC

This role will incorporate operations management, marketing initiatives, international market research, and business strategy.
Coordinating operations in the company’s China office by liaising between the Charlotte HQ office and the national office in China
Launching a China team with personnel in Charlotte and onsite in China
Handling communications and marketing for China operations
Managing projects and initiatives to foster growth and success in China
Meeting specific goals to measure success of each initiative
Conducting international market research
Working with multiple departments and individuals throughout the organization
Exhibiting a high level of trustworthiness and confidentiality when dealing with sensitive matters
Contributing innovative ideas to the team and identify opportunities to add further value
Putting together project reports to share updates and findings with the working team
Presenting project reports to the senior leadership team during the project for feedback and at the end of the project to deliver clear recommendations and results
This internship is unpaid, and the intern is not entitled to wages. The Intern will meet with his or her supervisor on a weekly basis for feedback and direction on projects. In between these meetings, the intern will work closely with several senior and mid-level team members in various departments to learn more about how to succeed in his or her projects. The Intern’s projects will be created for the purpose of this internship around her studies, interests and skills to further her education.
Native speaker in Mandarin or Cantonese and fluent in English
A deep understanding of Chinese business and professional culture
Experience working with Chinese business – ideally a U.S. organization with operations in China
A 4-year degree with higher than a 3.0 GPA
Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects concurrently
Aptitude in decision-making, problem-solving and teamwork
Ability to work in and adapt to a fast-paced environment
Flexibility to travel about 33% of the first year then scaling back
