  • Functional Spanish skills are required for all programs. Each participant needs to be able to communicate and know the tenses (past, presence, future). If this is not the case he/she is encouraged to take a Spanish course before the program starts (phone interview or Spanish test may be required by the host company or International Internships).

  • At least 18 Years of Age 

  • Relevant academic background and/or work experience in desired field


During your internship, you can either live in a carefully selected host family’s home or a shared apartment. With these options, you can decide if you would rather dive into the typical Chilean family life or live with other foreigners and/or Chileans in a residential community. The accommodation takes place in a single room and does not include meals. Upon request, half board can be booked with a Chilean host family accommodation.

Housing is dependent upon the location of your internship placement and availability.  

  • Host Family or Shared Apartment, Single Room, No Meals (Incl. internet access): $800 per month

  • Host Family, Single Room, Half-board (incl. internet access): $1,100 per month

Visa Information

U.S. and Canadian Citizens are able to arrive in Chile on the Tourist Visa. This visa is valid for 90 days with the option to extend an additional 90 days (100 USD). In addition, some large companies will require the visa temporaria. This visa is applied for at the Chilean Embassy/Consulate.

Academic Credit

Students can earn up to 6 credits for a summer program and up to 15 credits for a semester-long program. The number of credits to be issued is determined by the number of hours worked. Students can receive up to one credit for every 40-hour work week that they complete. Transfer credit is granted through our school of record, Truman State University, Kirksville, MO.
