Intern in London

Interning in the vibrant city of London will give you a lifetime of experiences and memories and will certainly be the highlight of your resumé as you embark on your chosen career path.  You will intern with leading companies in London (matched to your field of study and background) and come home with tangible skills related to your degree.  Whether you’re working in Business, Finance, or Theatre, we can find the right place for you.  

 

Visit Buckingham Palace and the famous Tower of London…. Don’t forget that weekends are free for travel to other parts of the UK and Europe so you can visit Loch Ness in Scotland or hit the beaches in Spain after a hectic work week!

Program Details

  • Be aged 18 or over

  • Currently be a full-time degree-seeking student in good standing or a recent graduate of a higher education institution.

  • Current students must have completed at least one semester of their university courses - future enrollment will not be taken into consideration. 

  • Recent graduates must begin their internship within 1 year of receiving their degree.

  • Have sufficient support funds (approx. $2,500)

  • If you are not a US citizen and are not studying in the US and/or English is not your first language you also need to provide proof that you have English language skills of a high level. You will be required to provide an IELTS score of above 6.0. 

Housing

Students may choose to arrange housing through International Internships LLC (Furnished room in a home or apartment or student residence) or independently.  All housing costs are in addition to Program Fees.  Prices are subject to change.  A security deposit of $300 is required. Rooms are available in Zones 1, 2, and 3. See Costs section for housing options and costs. All housing is self-catering - includes internet access, utility bills, council tax, TV license, weekly cleaning, and linen change.

Visa

BUNAC Sponsorship is required to apply for your internship visa to the UK. See "Visa Information" under the Program Details section for more information.

Zone 1 Rathbone Place Shared Apartment 

  • Shared twin per person:  £283 per week (approx. $380)

  • Standard Single:   £319 per week (approx. $430)

Zone 1 South Bank Hall of Residence

  • Shared twin with en-suite shower room:  £200 per week (approx. $270)

    • Requires 2 people traveling together

  • Standard Single with en-suite shower room:   £340 per week (approx. $455)

Zone 2 Flatshares

  • Twin room with twin occupancy:   £170 per week (approx. $230)

  • Single Room:  £220 per week (approx. $295)

Zone 3 Northern London House Shares 

  • Twin room with twin occupancy:   £156 per week (approx. $210)

  • Single Room:  £219 per week (approx. $295)

Additional Add-Ons:

  • Tour Package including a city tour, guidebook, and excursion: $295

  • Airport Pickup: $150

  • Academic Credit: $650 (Flat rate for up to 15 credits)

Visas & Academic Credit

Visa Information

Non-EU Citizens require the Tier 5 visa. The UK Tier 5 visa requires sponsorship through the BUNAC Intern In Britain Program, a designated sponsoring organization. Click here for more information about BUNAC. Instructions to apply for BUNAC Sponsorship will be provided following confirmation of your internship placement. BUNAC Sponsorship is approximately $755. Once your sponsorship is approved you will be able to apply for the UK Tier 5 visa.

Academic Credit

Students can earn up to 6 credits for a summer program and up to 15 credits for a semester-long program. The number of credits to be issued is determined by the number of hours worked. Students can receive up to one credit for every 40-hour work week that they complete. Transfer credit is granted through our school of record, Truman State University, Kirksville, MO.
